– About Our Family Experiment –
Matt & Denise
Matt hails from the heart of Kentucky, while Denise’s journey began in Washington before she embarked on a pastor’s kid odyssey across several states, from the Georgia/Florida line to the plains of Oklahoma. Their paths converged in an unlikely turn of events. God brought them together in October 2011, but it wasn’t until an accidental text from Denise in December 2011 that Matt, navigating a challenging phase in his life, took the leap. From that moment, their conversations became a daily ritual, leading to the official start of their relationship in February 2012. It felt as though they had known each other their entire lives. By May 2012, they were engaged and, that October, they became husband and wife. Talk about fate!
Matt and Denise have been through a lot in their marriage—health scares, financial hardships, and even having to rely on family for a roof over their heads during tough times. Their journey has been marked by seasons of recovery and resilience, shaping their resolve to settle down once and for all. After years of moving from state to state, they’ve returned to their hometown of Broken Arrow, OK, hoping to purchase land and build a stable home for their children—a place they can always return to. This new chapter is all about creating roots, finding peace, and focusing on raising their kids with love, faith, and purpose.
Ethan
Arriving just two days before his parents celebrated their first wedding anniversary, a beaming 7lb 15oz bundle of joy, Ethan entered the world. With a heart full of love, he embodies the true essence of a mama’s boy.
Ethan finds joy in the simple pleasures of life—snuggling with the family dogs and his mama, indulging in video games like Ark, Fallout, and Minecraft, teasing his younger sister about anything he can think of, and tinkering with any technology he can lay his hands on. Currently, his dream revolves around crafting wooden toys for children to enjoy. In his eyes, this is the path to future riches and endless fun.
Addison
Addison is the embodiment of everything we never realized we longed for. Born a robust 10 pounds and beginning her journey in the NICU, you’d never suspect she faced any challenges in those early days.
When she’s not in motion, her words fill the air. Addison possesses the remarkable gift of gab, and she uses it abundantly. Typically, you’ll discover her surrounded by a canine companion in her lap, a multitude of stuffed animals, and her tablet, engrossed in the world of Minecraft.
Her endearing silliness, combined with her immense heart, creates a delightful blend of her parents’ best qualities.
